Processing trauma with EMDR
when talking just not enough

What is trauma?
I understand trauma as a deeply distressing or disturbing experience that profoundly impacts an individual's emotional and psychological wellbeing. Trauma can stem from various events, such as accidents, abuse, loss, or witnessing violence, and often leaves invisible scars that influence how a person relates to themselves and others. It is important to recognise that each person's response to trauma is unique, and healing is a journey that requires empathy, patience, and support
Transforming your life through EMDR
If trauma is causing anxiety, distressing memories, or strong emotions, you’re not alone. I work with trauma also using EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) which offers an evidence-based way to process painful experiences and gain relief.
EMDR uses guided eye movements to help your brain reprocess difficult memories, making them less overwhelming. Together, we’ll create a safe space for you to address what’s bothering you and build confidence and resilience. No matter what you’re facing, I’m here to help you find lasting change at a pace that works for you, because you DESERVE to feel free from trauma memories.

What to expect from EMDR
We begin with a thorough assessment, where we explore your personal history and current concerns. Before starting EMDR, I will work with you to develop effective coping strategies and ensure you feel comfortable and secure throughout the process. EMDR sessions involve recalling distressing memories while engaging in bilateral stimulation, such as hand movements or tapping, which can help reduce emotional discomfort. On average, many people notice relief in about three sessions, although the number of sessions needed can vary from person to person. This approach is suitable for addressing a range of issues, including past or recent trauma, anxiety, phobias, PTSD or addictions. Each session is tailored to your individual needs, and I am here to support you every step of the way.
